FAQs

When is check in time?

Check in time is at 3 pm. If you arrive early and your cabin is not yet ready, please feel free to enjoy the resort, but also please be aware, there are no washrooms available until your cabin or RV is ready.

When is check out time?

Check out must be no later than 10:30 am (unless we are able to advise you otherwise).

What do we need to bring?

Bring Your Own Bedding and Towels. We provide mattress pad & bottom sheet only. Please bring your own top bed linens, blankets, pillows, personal towels, soap and toiletries Fishing license: Purchase your fishing license before you arrive.

What is inside the cabins?

All cabins have a fridge/ freezer, stove/oven, microwave, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, coffee maker / filters, kettle, toaster, dish cloth & towels, dish soap, broom, bucket and mop and all-purpose cleanser.

What if we have additional vehicles?

All cabin and RV rental rates are based on double occupancy and one vehicle. An extra charge is applied for additional guests, and any additional vehicles or trailers.

Do I need a boat license to rent a boat?

If you do not have an operator card and want to rent a boat, the Marigold is able to issue you a temporary card, by having you fill out a short knowledge quiz and providing a boat orientation. We do encourage our guests to take the course whenever possible. They are easily available online and once obtained you have it for life.

What kind of fishing is at Loon Lake?

Loon Lake supports rainbow trout fishing up to 1.5kg. Many freshwater shrimp, dragon flies, nymphs, chironomids, and mayflies make this a good fly-fishing lake; however, trolling with flatfish and spinning lures are the most popular methods used on the lake.

Do we need to bring our own lawn chairs?

We have plenty of lawn chairs for the fire pit areas or just sitting around. If you have your favorite camping chair, feel free to bring it with you. Please do not take the patio chairs from your deck to your fire pit.

Can I bring a pet?

Non Aggressive Pets are always welcome, but must be kept on leash while on the grounds, or be under your control in your cabin or on your patio. An extra charge is applied for each pet. And please, clean up after your pets so we are able to remain welcoming to your furry friends.

Is there a liquor store nearby?

The nearest Liquor store is a 45 minute drive one way, so please plan accordingly.

Is there a restaurant at Loon Lake?

No.

Is the lake naturally stocked?

Loon Lake is one of the few lakes in the Cariboo that is naturally stocked with Rainbow Trout.

Is the lake suitable for swimming?

Absolutely.

Can I bring my own fire wood?

We suggest to buy fire wood from us directly to avoid any potential bug issues being introduced to this environment.

Can I bring my own propane?

Yes you could but we provide propane for your bbq at $5 per day.

How big is Loon Lake?

Size 693.6 ha. (1713.2 ac.) Max. Depth 64.9 m. (212.9 ft.) Elevation 817 m. (2679.8 ft.)

Is there moorage for our own boat?

Moorage for your own boat is available. We cannot always guarantee the dock assigned will be immediately in front of your cabin, but we do our best. Launching is free for paying guests. Docking / moorage fees are $10 / day. Trailer parking is in our parking lot up the hill on the other side of the road from the resort. We are unable to allow trailer parking beside cabins due to parking lot congestion and fire regulations. We have never had any issues, but please bring a trailer lock if you are concerned.
